As a sculptor, I have developed a profound appreciation of the female form and am not shy about expressing my admiration and love for women. Recently, I created a piece called, Emergence, and although I am quite happy with the work, I wanted to create a similar piece that conveys a different message.  Unlike some of my male brethern, I do not perceive women as simply cuter, daintier versions of men.  Indeed, as an artist and a husband, I have learned to look deeper into many of the women who cross my path.  When I do, I see a virility and strength that most men seem to overlook.  Women like my mother, who hold their own despite the challange of creating and raising a family—largely on their own—inspire great admiration and respect in my eyes.  Without the devotion and love of a mother, most of us would not live, breath, dream and in fact, exist in this world.
